Caifanes, Mexico’s sensational Latin pop and rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Aragon Ballroom!
The band was formed in Mexico City in 1987 by Saúl Hernández (vocals and guitar), Alejandro Marcovich (lead guitar), Sabo Romo (bass guitar), Alfonso André, (drums), and Diego Herrera (keyboards and saxophone). Over the years, their musical style has spanned many genres such as Latin pop, rock en español (a term used widely in the English-speaking world to refer any kind of rock music featuring Spanish vocals), post punk (a broad type of rock music that emerged from the punk movement of the 1970s, in which artists departed from the traditional garage rock template of punk to pursue a variety of avant garde sensibilities), and progressive rock (a broad subgenre of rock music that grew out of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music). They cite British progressive rock band King Crimson as a huge influence and they’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 3 compilation albums, and 1 live album. The band split up in 1995 but reunited in 2011 and played at that year’s Vive Latino festival (Mexico City) and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Don't miss your chance to see the artists who are widely regarded as a leading light of the Latin American alternative rock community!
