Rise Against, Chicago's sensational melodic hardcore artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Aragon Ballroom!
Rise Against was formed in Chicago in 1999 by bassist Joe Principe and guitarist Dan Wleklinski. The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Tim McIlrath (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Zach Blair (lead guitar and backing vocals), Joe Principe (bass and backing vocals), and Brandon Barnes (drums and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of punk rock (a rock music genre - developed in the early to mid-1970s in the United States – that typically uses short or fast paced songs, with hard edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often political, anti establishment lyrics), hardcore punk (a sub-genre of punk rock that began in the late 1970s and is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock), and melodic hardcore (a sub-genre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work, fast rhythms, sometimes distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming). They’ve had a stellar career with 8 studio albums (5 of which were top 10 hits on the US Billboard 200 chart), 1 compilation album, 8 extended plays, 15 singles (8 of which were top 10 hits on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart), and 17 music videos.
Don’t miss your chance to see the punk artists who combine classic hardcore influences with melodic hooks and rousing choruses!
